Site auditor services for a unique energy infrastructure
Energy
Overview
Senversa is engaged by Origin Energy Eraring Pty Ltd as the NSW EPA-accredited Site Auditor for the contaminated site audit of the Eraring Power Station, which is currently slated for decommissioning as early as 2027.
Situated on the western shore of Lake Macquarie, Eraring has been a key pillar of New South Wales’ energy infrastructure since the early 1980s. As Australia’s largest coal-fired power station, it played a critical role in electricity generation for over four decades.
The decades of coal-fired power generation at Eraring have resulted in a complex environmental footprint, requiring careful management as the site transitions toward closure. Senversa is providing independent review of contamination investigations and remediation activities, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting Origin Energy’s long-term planning objectives. The audit process is collaborative, involving close engagement with government agencies and specialist consultants to guide responsible environmental outcomes.
With a dedicated office in Newcastle, Senversa remains committed to supporting the transition of Eraring Power Station and contributing to the broader energy and environmental transformation underway across New South Wales.
