Risk Assessment

Senversa is undertaking PFAS investigation and assessment works for Norfolk Island, on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications (DITRDC). Risk assessor involvement has been critical from the preliminary assessment phase. This includes building relationships with the community, and communicating information around the ongoing project to local residents, as well as providing strategic guidance so that field investigations efficiently targeted the data needed for risk assessment, and early expert advice (e.g. regarding water use for agricultural or domestic purposes) could be provided to islanders. This approach has built trust and understanding and addressing the concerns of the community, and in delivering a rapid and efficient assessment and response where the maintenance of an secure, adequate and clean water supply is of vital importance for this isolated community.
