Senversa provided Site Auditor services to Australian Industrial Energy (AIE) for a unique energy infrastructure project located in Port Kembla. The project involved the development of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) regassification terminal at the Inner Harbour of Port Kembla which included the construction of a new marine berth and wharf facilities. Resulting excavated and dredged material associated with the works was transferred for placement in a dedicated emplacement cell in Port Kembla’s Outer Harbour.
The scope of works for the Audit included:
- Review of design and management plans, including remediation works plan, emplacement cell design report, spoil management plan, water quality management plan and acid sulfate soil quality management plan.
- Review of a validation reports and long-term environmental management plans
- Provision of Interim Audit Advice letters, Section A Site Audit Statements and Site Audit Reports.
Key challenges overcome by Senversa included timely review of extensive consultant documentation over the duration of the project relating to the assessment, remediation and management of materials, whilst maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Senversa provided a strong and stable audit team over the course of the project, mitigating the potential for loss of knowledge with changing staff, and facilitating the development of good working relationships with the client and their service providers, resulting in successful project outcomes.
