Alec Nicolau is a Hydrogeologist with expertise in groundwater contamination assessments, mining hydrogeology, fate and transport modelling, and hydrogeological risk assessments. Alec leverages postgraduate studies in Hydrogeology
(Masters), which underpins his expertise in conceptualising groundwater flow regimes, aquifer properties, and contaminant transport behaviour. Alec’s professional experience covers diverse regions across rural Western Australia and Victoria, and includes work in sectors such as consulting, mining, state and local government, Defence, oil and gas, waste management, property development, and
construction. He has a proven track record in project managing multidisciplinary projects involving contaminant assessments for metals, hydrocarbons (PSH, LNAPL), PFAS, pesticides, and industrial fertilisers in groundwater. Outside of work Alec enjoys spending time with his family and friends, spending time on hobbies, gardening, outdoor activities, reading and watching sports.
